2024 was an exciting year for us, full of encounters, events, and of course, thrilling Bounds. Together with you, we were once again able to push the boundaries of interactive learning and demonstrate on many occasions that Actionbound brings fun on various levels! Here’s a review of our highlights of the year:
(Tip: Make sure you read to the end for a sneak peek into the future of Actionbound, it's worth it 😉!)
Our (small) team christmas party in Berlin in November 2024.
Events in focus: Didacta, COCON24, and Learntec
This year’s Didacta took us to Cologne in February, this time only as visitors. At Europe’s largest education fair, we played the role of observers, taking a closer look at key players in the educational landscape and trying out various tools and applications ourselves. Under the motto "The future of education – Get involved!", the interview with North Rhine-Westphalia’s Education Minister Dorothee Feller and the panel talk on "Crisis prevention through historical-political education" provided us with valuable new insights. Such off-the-job workdays remind us of the importance of staying up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the industry to continue enhancing Actionbound.
In May, under glorious sunshine, we headed to Offenbach for our debut at the Copetri Convention (COCON24). Here, we not only had our own booth but also, in collaboration with Copetri, offered a rallye across the entire event. This Bound aimed to let participants experience all aspects of the event: from the outdoor area with numerous participation opportunities, through exciting panel talks, to quiz questions about the event. We concluded by raffling off three wonderful prizes among the participants, with the winners receiving an Apple Watch, a Patagonia travel backpack, and a Blackroll. If you want to enhance your event with a Bound, feel free to reach out to us 😉.
As they say, all good things come in threes, our final event of the year was Learntec in Karlsruhe– the event we look forward to the most to be honest! Since this year, you could find us in Hall 2 at booth L3, and we inaugurated our new location with style. As usual, we had our cozy sofa for relaxing and playing Bounds, and of course, our popular Actionbound popcorn! Additionally, at the school@Learntec, we gave a thrilling presentation titled "Digital learning methods should be fun for everyone – not just learners!", which was attended by many interested individuals. By the way, we’ll be at Learntec again in 2025. Will you be there too? If so, feel free to stop by!
Team retreat in Schochwitz: Exciting workshops and team building
For the fourth time, we met for our team retreat in a castle in Salzatal, Saxony-Anhalt. Alongside productive workshops on topics like "Design Thinking" and "Business Storytelling," we were once again impressed by the culinary skills of our friend and “Schochwitz private chef” Prosper Castell. If there’s one thing our team loves, it's all kinds of games and quizzes but also shared meals! We’re already looking forward to the 2025 menu 🍝.
Online courses, workshops and consultings
This year, we really went all out, hosting an impressive number of courses, workshops, and consultations – both online and in person. Especially the in-person events always stand out positively, as we particularly love the combination of the digital and real world (what a surprise!).
We’re already very excited to work on new exciting projects with you in 2025!
Looking ahead: We have big plans for 2025
We don’t want to reveal too much yet, but one thing is certain: you can look forward to a visual transformation of Actionbound throughout the upcoming year 🎉. We can’t wait to give you more updates on that, stay tuned!
Thank you and happy holidays!
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to you, our fantastic community. Your enthusiasm, feedback, and creativity drive us every day. We wish you a restful holiday season, much joy with your loved ones, and a great start into the new year! Here’s to a wonderful 2025 – we look forward to many great Bounds with you!
New Year's Eve is just around the corner and so is the perfect opportunity to try out some new games! With Actionbound, you can easily create exciting escape games and midnight rallies for your friends and family. Here are some tips to make your New Year's Eve party unforgettable:
Preparation is key
Before you start, think of a theme or storyline for your game. An escape game might revolve around solving a specific task, while a midnight rallye could include various tasks and stations leading up to the countdown at midnight. A well-thought-out story ensures fun, excitement, and even more anticipation for the new year!
New Year's Eve Escape Game
If you want to create your own escape game, here are some ideas to get you started:
1. Time travel adventure
Send your players on a journey through the past year, 2024, and create puzzles related to significant events of the year.
Example: Which musician held 10 concerts in Munich/Germany? Take a video of you trying to sing one of her most famous songs :)
2. Spy mission
Participants become secret agents on a crucial mission. Encoded messages, secret meeting points, and hidden gadgets add to the thrill!
Example: Design your Bound so that in the end, a message needs to be deciphered to prevent secret information from falling into the “wrong hands.”
3. Magical adventure
Players choose their favorite magician and solve a mystical puzzle. They need to mix potions, invent spells, and then guess who created which magic potion in the group.
Example: Send your players on a magical tour ending with a tasting of their self-created drinks!
Prefer a midnight rallye?
If you prefer something more active (maybe even outdoors), you can create your individual midnight rallye with the following elements:
Photo challenges: Challenge the group to take funny or themed photos.
Quiz questions: Ask questions about the past year or about your friendship and family.
Mini-games: Include small games like charades or lead-pouring to keep things interesting.
Code breakers: Hide clues and codes around your home or garden that players need to crack to advance.
Combination tasks: Have players combine various objects or solve tasks to find the next clue.
Conduct a test run
Perform a test run – this ensures all tasks are solvable, and the Bound works smoothly. Additionally, you can make final adjustments to optimize the gameplay experience.
The big countdown
Plan for your game to end just before midnight. The final task could be to start a countdown or find a hidden treasure – perhaps a bottle of champagne – to toast the new year.
We wish you lots of fun creating and a fantastic start to the new year! Happy New Year and enjoy Actionbound!

Creating a Bound is just the beginning. If you want it to be played often and inspire your players, there are a few points to consider - after all, you want the world to know how much passion and energy you have put into the end result 🙂
Here are some helpful tips to promote your Bound in the best possible way:
Quality of your Bound:The key to success lies in the quality of the content. Make sure that your Bound is appealing, informative and entertaining.
Understand your target group: Engaging with your target group is crucial. Tailor your Bound to the needs and interests of your target group, because the better you know them, the better you can target them.
Creative titles and clear descriptions: Use catchy titles that arouse curiosity and precise descriptions that convey the content of your Bound. Creative and memorable names are an added bonus.
Visual appeal: Use appealing graphics and a user-friendly design to attract the attention of potential players. A visually appealing design is crucial.
Social media promotion: Share your Bound on the social platforms that your target group frequently visits. Use relevant hashtags and keywords and link to the Bound-page on the Actionbound website.
Email marketing: Send a newsletter to your customers or multipliers in your network to make them aware of your Bound.
Cooperations: Collaborations with influencers or other companies can significantly increase the visibility of your Bound and reach a wider audience.
Targeted advertising: Place targeted adverts on blogs, in magazines or regional media to directly address potential players. Invest in online adverts or flyers if you have the budget for it.
Landing pages: Create your own landing page on which your Bound is presented in detail and the start-QR code is displayed. Interested parties will find all the information they need here.
Customer reviews and recommendations: Ask participants for reviews and share them on social media or your website to gain the trust of potential participants. Satisfied players are often the best ambassadors.
Use feedback from participants: Collect feedback from players and use it to continuously improve your Bound. Players' needs can change, so stay flexible.
Time-limited actions: Announce when Bounds are only available for a limited time or when this makes sense in terms of content, e.g. in relation to seasons.
Community building: Create a community or forum where players can exchange ideas. The opportunity to exchange ideas promotes loyalty and interest.
Create incentives: Offer a prize for completing your Bound. This prize can of course be completely customised.
By following these tips, you can ensure that your Bound gets the attention it deserves 🙂
